Not enough blood in finger prick test .

Hello , I was wondering if any of you could help me . I did the medicheck finger prick test this morning however after 3 attempts and using all 3 lancets and following the instructions I was unable to fill the tube . I have posted it of with as much blood as I could get in the tube about half full. Will they still be able to test on a smaller amount or will I have to do another test ?

Thanks in advance .

I think it depends on which test you ordered. Half a tube might be enough if only having 2 or 3 things tested, I wouldn't hold out much hope if it's the Ultravit.

Hi

Yep I had the same problem, I was having the blue horizon plus11 with full thyroid, vit b d folate & ferritin. I only managed about half a tube but it wasn't enough ☹️. I did try again and attacked the same spot with 3 lancets and a kitchen knife 😦 Still no joy. So I had to get them vacutainer and get a friend whose a practice nurse to draw the blood. Hope you don't have to go to those lengths

I had the same problem a few years ago..you need to get your blood to your extremities. I took a hot bath and then leant over the edge so my hands were nearly at ground level..then the blood flowed nicely. Now I go to one of the Blue Horizon blood test centres for colllection!! Good luck with your results
