Morning all

My levothyroxine was increased on 25/09 from 50mcg to 75mcg and my most recent blood tests are below. My T4 doesn't seem to be changing much whereas my TSH is coming down nicely.

Does this mean I have a conversion problem? I'm still struggling to lose the 17lbs I've gained in the last year. Am I under medicated?

(Assume without T3 test no one will know).

I stopped taking my supplements (Igennus Super B-Complex x 2 per day and desiccated liver) a week before my bloods. My bloods were taken at 08:00 on an empty stomach without taking my levothyroxine.

Will my TSH continue to reduce and get to a point where it stops? I'm worried that a year is a long time to wait to find out.

I'm considering using medichecks but am pretty squeamish so not sure I'd be able to do the finger prick test and I doubt I could afford a private blood draw.

It isn't that your TSH needs to continue to come down per se, more that it needs to be at a level that's optimal for you, whatever that level is; and more importantly that your hormone levels are optimal, which if you remain symptomatic, are unlikely to be. It is having the optimal levels of FT4 and FT3 that will have a direct effect on your wellness. So if you are medicated optionally, all things being equal, your TSH level should be right for you - that is how the HPA axis and its negative feedback mechanisms works in theory. Currently your FT4 is still just below midrange and so it seems that you remain under-medicated and in need of a dose increase. Whether you optimally convert isn't yet a direct concern as you've yet to optimise your FT4; however conversion can only be assessed by looking at FT4 & FT3 results together from the same draw, and not from FT4 alone.
