Have you read of the top tennis player ( male) sorry cant spell his name as I am in bed and would need a ref .well he has turned his health and performance around having used this diet . My ⭐️ Doctor told me of him last time I consulted . He was very open to this and the very clear benefits experienced by me and others . I have been 1 year now , would only have followed it because of help of this forum, and have lost symptoms I would not have suspected to be caused by gf.
Sorry its so long. Just hope it encourages others to pursue
Thanks. My wonderful ⭐️gp is leaving in a years time 😒😒

Could be a number of top tennis players but perhaps NovaK is the one you're thinking of? …. article here from 2015.
I wasn't aware of Novak's decision to ditch gluten but I knew Andy Murray had.
I made a lot of changes to my diet along the lines of Novak (though haven't yet booted out dairy) when I received blood results showing high thyroid antibodies and joining this brilliant forum - Dec 16/Jan 17. I wouldn't go back to my old ways, regardless of how finicky I may appear to others - who knew I'd be the subject of those eye rolls (I used to give them too, ashamed to say) and who cares!!!
Pleased that you're doing well on it and that you've the support of your doctor - shame he's leaving, but maybe someone else will offer the same support.
My mantra is nothing tastes as good as being well feels.
I shouldn't worry, it's not in anyway illuminating. The article points out the irony of how he writes at the beginning of his book that readers should not follow other people's diet plans, before proceeding to tell them how to eat according to his plans .... And then writes that he's going to help readers find the "best diet for their own unique self" before proceeding to tell them exactly what to exclude/include - get rid of gluten, reduce sugar etc etc.
I happen to be a tennis fan and had Djokovic on my radar from the very beginning of his career - so was just interested. I will be glued to the O2 later this afternoon.
We have a grandson on the cusp of a professional career in sport who is a coeliac ... so again an interest in nutrition/sport ...
He doesn't tell the reader to follow his plans, but what are, as we thyroidies well know, the foods that will for many harm the gut. He suggests starting with eliminating gluten and if you feel better look at other foods. He also advocates seeing what affects the readers body.
I like the clear simplicity of his message. I also like that it's really helped me and many others. But we are all different.
Yes it is Novak. I didn’t hear the interview, it was my GP who mentioned it to me when I told him I was GF . He also agrees with NDT and the need for T3 based on patients clinical symptoms etc. I asked him who he might suggest I see in the practice when he leaves. He mentioned the long servicers , known to me . His thoughts that the younge ones would more lightly follow the dogma . No hope there then for us !! He added that there is much controversy about thyroid hormones , as we all know 😄
I went gluten and dairy free 15 months ago. I am no longer on any meds at all. I was overactive thyroid. Heart rate and all blood work is in range now. I have also lost 15 lbs. skinny now!
