Your calcium level ie total calcium, has not been marked as abnormal; but it doesn't indicate what percentage of that is unbound and available. Calcium has a tendency to "stick" to protein such as albumin for instance, and so an adjustment is made to identify what might be unbound. ie the adjusted calcium value aims to compensate for the albumin and probably isn't completely accurate - hence there is an alternative ionised calcium test which directly identifies unbound calcium. Low unbound calcium might indicate one of a number of problems including low magnesium and/or Vit D, or low parathyroid for instance; so it's a marker for your Dr to look a little further.

Ask GP to retest Vitamin D and to test Parathyroid hormones

Calcium levels should be within range.

So yes GP should test PTH

It's a difficult test to do privately as it needs immediate processing.
