Anyone tried Rogaine?

Hi- just as the title says- has anyone tried rogaine for hair loss?

I have been loosing hair for 18months- allot of hair, well over half now.

My vitamins, minerals, ferritin and thyroid results are all really good and optimum and have been for several months which has made no difference to hair results.

I have had my female hormones tested and all well within range ( in fact right where they should be) and my testosterone was almost 0 so lower than average but as far as I have seen this wouldn’t cause hair loss.

I have diffuse hair loss but mainly on my temples which are now bald, the front of my hairline and crown. The very back at the top of my neck is still thick as before.

I’ve tried so many hair loss shampoos and conditions over the 18 months and nothing has made a difference.

Now trying to think outside the box ...

Regaine is minidoxil in a topical form. It forces the increase of the blood supply to the root of the hair (think of it as a food supply for the root) . It will prevent further loss but does not grow hair that has already fallen from the blood supply drying up, so it can help maintain the hair you have. The biggest problem is if you stop using it the hair falls out very quickly and you are back where you started..........it is an expensive long term commitment

I use Foligain shampoo and conditioner. It contains 2% Trioxigil and has been a help to me.

It does take a few months to show any growth but I do have some nearly an inch long on my front bald spot. I certainly don't panic as much these days.

Thank you! I will have a look. I’ve spent so much money with private tests, private endo, numerous tablets etc I’m at the point of trying anything anyone can recommend that has worked for them

I forgot to say that it’s not tested on animals which is a good thing. I get mine from Biovea, it’s in America but delivery is cheap and fast to the UK.

I have started using regain. It seams to be an autoimmune disease side effect for typically hair loss around the temples. I like using regain as it makes my hair look and feel thicker. My doctor recommended it. I didn’t know that your hair falls out if you stop using it. My friend uses it only about three times a week,so that’s less expensive. My iron levels have been fine for years and my hair has still got thinner over the years. I am so envious of women with hair all over their heads. I will keep using regain, at least it makes my hair look ok
