You are hypothyroid but doctors in the UK have been directed not to diagnose until the TSH reaches 10. In other countries we're diagnosed when TSH is over 3+ with symptoms. Your TSH is above range and T4 below it. Doctor may now prescribe levothyroxine or he may decide to wait until the TSH is 10.

Any blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the earliest and fasting (you can drink water). TSH is highest then and drops throughout the day and could mean the difference between being diagnosed or not.

Your TSH is high, above range and FT4 low, but in range

You need to test vitamins

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
