Restarting NDT after a three week break

Hi everyone

I stopped NDT for three weeks..won’t go into why now as bit complicated to explain...

But I sensed the need to restart .,.i was on 2.25 Grains...

I definitely couldn’t tolerate that amount now..as have been on Progesterone. CReam for three months now and that made such huge difference....

I’ve reatarted on ONE GRAIN as I read somewhere you shouldn’t take too little..causes problems with feedback loop or something I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND !

But three days in and feeling wired and tired and I’m scared of feeling too hyper too quick..Nd messing things up. Is this the right thing to do do you think....HELP !

hey i stop and start all the time dont like the side effects of being wired cant sleep etc...but normally have a good week then day 10 twice as bad as ever was cant breathe barely walk so this will be the last time i stop start iguess....for a long time i questioned myself if i needed this as always been rather/up and down mad on off for long time and had dilerbating pmt for 20 years (i now know it was a thyroid getting worse and worse) but had fear of doctors and going out for other reasons....type im getting to is always trying to find a level i can bear which you should do but start off low as out of your system in 10 days and build up and find a a place where dont feel anxious...i cant bare the anxiousness rather like coming down off illicit drugs bad in the day....the levo ruined my hair im convinced and on internet brought ndt which is better but still can get wired bett ter to have less than more if makes one feel like that maybe go slowly if able

Dear Simone,

I put out my message wanting a bit of guidance...

You’ve very kindly replied when you’re clearly struggling yourself.

So briefly let me see if I can help YOU!

For all the years I can remember I haven’t felt well..and like you...up down up down with the levo ..hopeless waste of time and years...I see my old self in You message.

But I am becoming transformed .snd you can too,..

What helped me ...extremely slowly indeed.. on the years...

BOOKS

First and foremost a real understanding of what is going on...why you are like you are.

I bought the right books...couldn’t really make head or tail of things as , like you, couldn’t concentrate to sort it out...you have to manage the day to day things after all while you don’t feel good.

But please , nonetheless, if you don’t have them already..buy the right books...buy one book if you like..buy it secondhand from Amazon...

Why not get

STOP THE THYROID MADNESS... it’s extremely good and clear and encouraging.

The second thing it has taken years to discover is...

ADRENALS.

YOU PROBably have adrenal issues going on by now..as the thyroid not being right can be caused by poor adrenal health or indeed can cause them not to be right. So..once again..get the right books to help.

Or..just pore over adrenal health in he stop the thyroid madness book and

Check out

DR RIND

THIS IS ONE AMAZING SITE. I printed off ALL the relevant pages and numbered and filed them into some sort of order..I highlighted the text ..marked It

PRINT OF HIS TEMPERATURE CHARTS ...A FEW...IN COLOUR.

Read all his notes explaining what to do and why.

BUY THE BEST DIGITAL THERMOMETER....

now, I’ve tried several..read reviews..thrown one or two out,,,and always checked off results against an old fashioned mercury thermometer.

Most digital ones are not very reliable at alll..they are just not up to it.

But I have found the best one is possibly iProven on Amazon...can’t remember name or number..wasn’t very dear...it’s white with black top..

BUT..recently I’ve discovered through experiment that it’s most accurate when give two whole minutes in the mouth..I know it’s tedious..but it’s better than the five to ten required for mercury testing,

FOLLOW DR RINDS METHOD TO THE LETTER..as much as possible...commit to the three times daily...get a file and file the charts alongside his guidelines and interpretational notes and diagrams.

But two thermometers ..take one in your bag..so you can try and be consistent.

THIS THEREMOMETER BUSINESS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU NOW. I know ..Ives been there. This would be a big step in the right direction and would be the beginning of THE ANSWER.

YES..... I DID SAY THAT !

THEN....YOU WILL QUICKLY KNOW IN A FEW DAYS WHAT IS WRONG.. I SUSPECT LOW TEMPS AND ADRENAL FATIGUE.

Then you can buy some adrenal support...

Thorne aAdrenal perhaps...try first perhaps...one or two daily perhaps..and se if your temps start to stabilise even though low....

If now...buy Adrenavive from The Natural choice...Adrenavive 11 ..and take what Peter with food and the quarter without food on days two. Next day half with food...next day half without food...and so on till one a day .

Then see if temps stabilise. It should help you to feel a bit better..

THEN..if after few weeks things not really better...as I experienced ..over two years of this regime...far too long..

Look at Progesterone..

But I don’t k ow your age or circumstances...but for me

THIS IS THE MISSING PART OF THE JIGSAW.

COULD EXPLAIN THIS ANOTHER TIME..BUT TEY ALL THE ABOVE FIRST...ITLL TAKE A FEW MONTHS...SIX PERHAPS....OR POSSIBLE AOONER..I DONT KNOW...ITS ALL A,VERY SLOW BUSINESSM !

I hope all this helps....

Get going !

All the best

Marion .

Hi Simone.

No..read my message to you carefully..

Dr Rind isn’t a book it’s a website...

You don’t need to accept your life as a half life anymore..

That’s stress and depression talking.

You’re allowing all this to happen to you..

But truly , you can take back control and make a plan and start to get better. Do you want to get well ?

Forgive me for asking..not being rude ..trying to focus you...

If you really want to be well...

PRINT OFF MY MESSAGE TO YOU..AND THIS ONE...LISTEN CAREFULLY TO WHAT IM SAYING...

IF YOU THINK IT COULD BE RIGHT FOR YOU...MAKE IT YOUR TASK TO GO THROIGH THE POINTS ONE BY ONE...BUT YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING OTHERWISE YOU WONT GET WELL.

IM NEARLY 69.... and I’m at last starting to get better..

STARTING !

But that is not because it just happened ..it didn’t....I had to do the work, as unfortunately there is no other way.

Lots of people on HU can help you along the way..but I believe my last message to you sets out a valid plan...one which will really help to get you well.

The PROGESTERONE IS FOR ME THE MISSINIG LINK...THIS IS WHAT IS DINSLLY WORKING..

BUT ITS ON TOO OF ALL THE OTHER STUFF I TOLD YOU ABOUT...

HAVE ANOTHER COFFEE ..PRINT OFF THESE TEO MESSAGES AND READ THEM. AGAIN!

Forgive if you think I sound ruse ..don’t mean to. .

Sound my best for you..

But if you don’t like what I’ve said..that’s ok...feel free to smile and dismiss !

All the best...

Marion

TAKING CONTROL !

can you tell me (going back to your post) why you stopped taking ndt? was it because you felt so well? that is normally why i stop and start?

Jollypolly profile image
Jollypolly in reply tosimone2887

No

You must ignore that for yourself .. it’s because I’m on Progesterone now and for the first time ever begun to feel well

Progesterone deficiency can either mimic hypothyroidism

OR

Can cause it

I’ve learnt so much lately

But YOU. We’d to take on board my suggestions first before you lol at Progesterone

Even a couple of months doing dr rinds method you’ll know what’s going on THEN

YOU CAN HAVE A PLAN ANS MOVE FORWARD

Jollypolly profile image
Jollypolly in reply tosimone2887

Sorry Simone typo and forgot something..

Meant YOU..need to take on board etc ..before you LOOK at anything else..

Also...meant to say to answer your question...

Estrogen dominance...look it up...too much estrogen and not balanced by enough progesterone....stops the thyroid meds working properly..hence...many not well then despite the best medicine.

But...start Progesterone and your hormones start balancing..and then your thyroid meds start working properly ..or ..your thyroid just starts to function properly...and you start getting better ..and so you need to decrease your thyroid meds or eventually stop altogether.

So I got to stopping as I thought I was overloaded...but I was a nit premature..but I don’t see myself going back to the dose of NDT that I was on .

Hope this makes sense..and gives you hope for your not too distant future

I can now definitely see light at the end of the tunnel...

You could too...if you are determined , patient Amdahl hopeful and thorough .

Thoroughness of self treating is the key ,,and self treating is the only way.
