First of all that you all so much for sharing, as the information here has had a huge impact on 4 members of my family already!
I wondered if someone could help with interpretation of Cortisol Saliva test results for my partner, please?
He has lots of symptoms of Hypo-Thyroid and Adrenal Fatigue, although apart from low B12 his Thyroid results were all in normal range (as confirmed on this forum recently). So we checked his Cortisol now too.
It seems to me (with no experience in these things) that these results show as a bit low in the morning and quite high late in the day. Which would match the symptoms of not being able to get to sleep at night and then not being able to wake up in the morning (and always being tired).
With these results would you suggest trying the Adrenal support supplements?
Cortisol (Saliva) Waking 12.00 (normal range 6.0 - 21.0 nmol/L , <6.0 Possible Addison's)
Cortisol (Saliva) 12:00 6.54 (normal range 1.5 - 7.6 nmol/L)
Cortisol (Saliva) 16:00 3.86 (normal range 0 - 5.5 nmol/L)
Cortisol (Saliva) Before Bed 1.91 (normal range 0 - 2.0 nmol/L , >5.0 possible Cushing's)
Many thanks ! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

If this test was done by Regenerus, Genova or a company that includes a graph of the results, can you post a picture so that we can see where the results lie in relation to the normal curve.
Optimal levels are:
Morning at the top of the range - so that result is low
Noon approximately 75% of the range - that result is 82% so not too bad
Evening close to 50% of the range - which would be 2.75 so that result is a bit high
Nighttime at the bottom of the range - so that result is almost at the top of the range so far too high.
It's the morning and nighttime ones that are the problem and I have no idea what supplements would raise the morning level and lower the rest I'm afraid.
Thank you so much for confirming my thoughts about the results. He did the test through BH as at the time I didn't realise that other companies gave more comprehensive results. So I don't have a graph to share. But the details you gave are really helpful, thanks.
The cortisol results are all well withing the range given & don't look too bad. I've had Cushing's & my results were much higher than that, now I have adrenal insufficiency so understand what cortisol levels should be. As his B12 is is on the low side this is more likely to be the reason for his fatigue.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. That's helpful to have information from someone who has experience with this sort of thing. We've just started him on B12 spray and have seen some changes in a few things in just a few days, so perhaps that will be enough for him. Thanks again for your help.
