I have now cut down levo to 25mg more bloods in 4 weeks ..feel the same as when I was in 100mg ..last blood test my ferritin was tested ( requested by endio) seems I had never been tested before that said because my hemoglobin has always been ok in the past.. results were down to 11 ..(on the scale of 15 to 300 being the range ) .they have given me ferrous sulfate only on day 5 ATM ..still very tired and big slumps in energy in the late afternoon ..

A late afternoon energy slump is typical of badly treated thyroid... Take iron with vitamin c - this is pretty vital in my experience. Secondly, avoid things that'll bind to the iron that'll stop it from being absorbed, such as tea. My mother drank tea half an hour after her iron tablet and couldn't fathom why her levels remained very low for years! There is some basic advice on the NHS website about iron deficiency.

Low iron more than likely means you'll have other deficiencies such as low b12, vit d or folate as well - important you get these tested and please let us see your results for these and your latest full thyroid panel including antibodies.

My b12 was ok and my intibodies as well. On day 7 of of irion tabs so far no bad side effects and definitely don't feel anymore tired from cutting down the levo so far. Doctors are actually listening to me at the moment which is a pleasant experience

Ferrous Sulphate is the cheapest and least well tolerated form of iron, so if it makes you very constipated, gives you stomach cramps, or doesn't bring your iron levels up, you could try Ferrous fumarate - usually available as 210mg pills, available over the counter from superdrug for instance, or amazon is cheaper. Most people do better on Ferrous fumarate than ferrous sulphate. Hope it works for you.

Sorry it is Ferrous fumarate 210 mg 3 times a day

Why have you decreased your thyroxine?

Doctor didn't think I should have been given it at all so refered me to endio he agreed and they are cutting me down and giving me bloods tests along the way. I never felt any benefit from taking it really .we all have good and bad spells but never really felt it made me really any better .

You could do with your blood test results.
