Has anyone successfully reverse a fatty liver following the LCHF (low carb high (healthy) fat) diet?
I was told 4 years ago when our local hospital tried to remove my gallbladder that I had a fatty liver, but didn't say I should do anything about it. I had it removed at King's in London, and they never even mentioned my fatty liver.
Recently I was getting pain under my right rib, and that has led to a raft of tests .. MRI, CT, Fibro and blood tests.. consultant is happy with me following a low carb diet, but I didn't mention the high fat half of the equation.
So was wondering if anyone has managed to reverse their following LCHF or Keto diet, with or without the doctors consent?
A friend of mine did. it took over a year, but he is now fine and continues to watch his diet. He still had a gall bladder, but i don't know if that makes a difference.
If you go to the Diet Doctor website and do a search for "liver" you'll find quite a few references to fatty liver being helped by a low carb high fat diet or a ketogenic diet.
I am doing a LCHF diet as part of the Expert Patient Programme for T2 pre-Diabetes and since starting this my Triglicerides have gone down, which I believe is part of the Fatty Liver problem. My cholesterol has also gone from 6.2 to 5.4, so think I am on the right track. Wish you good luck trying.
Thanks that's given me great encouragement, I've been LCHF since last November, unfortunately when I caught flu followed by a chest infection I feel off the track, and took ages to get back, but I'm back to ditching weight and having lots of non-scale victories, so things are working this end. Just wanted to know if anyone had managed to reverse or at lease start to reverse their fatty liver, which sounds like you're doing.
