L’Thyroxin Henning - struggling to get my prescription?!

So just had a call from my pharmacist saying he’s having trouble getting my Thyroxin Henning ordered in due to their being a problem with the cost and that he can offer me the Teva Lactose free instead? I’ve heard bad things about Teva and now I am annoyed as it sounds like the NHS is trying to take this off me when I’ve been on it over a year now? What can I do? I’ve said I don’t want it changed so he has to source it and I don’t care about the cost as I pay over £600 tax a month!!!! Cheeky or what.. 😡 and also I already have to send my T3 lactose free prescriptions to England from Scotland as they also don’t get me that up here either as it’s unlicensed however the pharmacies in England send me it no problem. Such a joke up here!

If you have a prescription you can buy your Thybon cheaply from Germany. The NHS pay stupid prices for Thybon as the pharmacies rip them off and the NHS goes belly up.

Yes, you can. But it makes life much easier if the prescription is written for the right number of tablets - 100 rather than the usual UK 28.

How do I get my prescription to Germany? That seems such a massive hassle when I’ve been getting it through the NHS the last year or more why all of a sudden are there problems with it?

Post. They require the original - not just a scan or photo.

Is this just my normal prescription or an actual private one as my Endo doesn’t do private ones and do you have any address or places I can send it too as I can’t find anywhere online.

A normal NHS FP10 prescription is fine. As I said earlier, get it written for 100 tablets (or multiple!)

Some possible suppliers are identified here:

You do, though, need the prescription writer to trust you to treat it as a private prescription send send it to Germany rather than try to use it at a UK pharmacy and see a huge charge landing on their account! :-)

Is this Thybon Henning T3 you are after or Thybon Levothyroxine?

Thybon Henning T3 is 31 Euro for 100 x 20mcg

Pharmacy will most likely be charging NHS considerably more

I do agree - on re-reading, it isn't 100% clear! But the answers are the same. :-)

A friend got Thybon Henning through UK pharmacy when Versandapo went and was desperate .....almost as expensive as UK T3. So quite a profit going on there

My pharmacist friend in Germany says there's a problem with unlicensed imports- the importer can add whatever markup they like, as the NHS hasn't fixed any prices. I buy it directly from mycare.de (30EUR for 100 20mcg tablets) and I'm hoping I'll be able to carry on doing that after Brexit.

hi all, can I ask what German pharmacy you are all using now versandapo doesn't work? Thank you!
