Multi nodular goitre

Hello all.

I just had another scan (not yet got GP's comments) but was informed I (still) have a multinodular goitre (as far as I know same as 20 years ago no treatment). Swelling worse on left side, again I expected this as swallowing difficult for past year.

Had private Medichecks tests, took to doc and waiting for results of NHS vitB12 results.

I am on the list (possibly 5 months wait!) to see an endo.

I have fingers crossed for B12 injections soon. I am feeling absolutely awful - and I only say that here because I know others will understand. Wobbly, brain not working properly having blanks and serious forgetfulness, low energy (energy - what's that??), just want to sleep.

Fed up with putting everything down to my age. Every day another difficulty.

I am attempting a gluten free diet (am vegetarian) in the hope that will help.

I would so like to know am I alone with these problems? Anyone else like me? What can I do to help myself? Thank you j x

You are not alone, I have a mutli nodular goitre, had pain always, always on the left where you could also feel a hard lump, had trouble swolling, sore throats etc, and it got missed for years and years, what I found helped was liquid Iodine - I do not take much of that (as too much or too little can cause issues) but since then have not had an issue or any pain with my goitre.

Well done for going Gluten Free, do you have any allergies/intolerances?

I used to be so poorly and feeling like I had been hit by a bus all the time, thankfully the things I have done have really helped me so much and I am almost back to having a normal life from being nearly housebound.
