I was also very ill when first diagnosed and before diagnosis with eggs . Once I heeled my gut I reintroduced eggs and I’m fine now and totally gluten free . I have read lots of stories of coeliacs being intolerant to eggs when having a leaky gut . How long have you been on gluten free diet ?

Have a look at Jason vale he will recommend juices for thyroid patients ..

Hi, the protein in milk is similar to that of gluten so you may be reacting to that too. Why don't you follow the aip diet, an elimination diet aimed at identifying your food sensitivities. I would avoid gluten free substitutes as although they are gluten free it doesn't mean they are healthy 🙂 and your thyroid needs a lot of nutrients to work properly x

I dont know about aip diet.

O tried gluten free for a reason every one say gluten is dangerous to hashimoto..

in reply toDils

Yes, gluten triggers the immune system so should definitely be avoided. I know if I eat gluten now, even the smallest bit, I get ill for days/weeks. You should google the aip diet. Or look into the diets recommended by Dr Izabella Wentz. Hope you feel better soon x

One egg, one biscuit, and one cup of tea with milk is not much of a breakfast. It probably contains barely 180 calories. If this is typical of your meals then I'd say you are starving, and this is the cause of the dizziness. You need to eat more.

When people stop eating gluten it is common for them to think they can just eliminate it. They don't realise they are losing lots of calories by removing gluten from their diet and those calories need to be replaced with something gluten-free. So you might be feeling really, really hungry at breakfast time when previously you never ate breakfast.

Another thing that happens when going gluten-free for the first time is that there is a reaction from the body that is like going through withdrawal from an addictive substance. It makes people feel as if they have the flu. That wears off after a few days or maybe a week. It's horrible while it lasts, but many people do feel much better without gluten than they do with it.

For lots of no-cost gluten-free recipes use this link :

bbc.com/food/recipes

and put "gluten free" in the search box. You can refine your results to include just main meals or just vegetarian meals or whatever you are interested in.

I never feel hungry till afternoon and seem to manage ok

Are there things you eat where there is no dizziness? Gluten free food can have fewer calories perhaps it is that or maybe some additive in the GF biscuit is causing it. It is no good being dizzy. May be try a different option and see if the dizziness goes away.

I find pineapple juice very soothing it has a lot of beneficial things in it probably eating real pineapple is better than juice. Ideally the juice should not be from concentrate either. I hope you can easily get fresh pineapple.

A quick comment - surely there are other nasties in the biscuit? I discovered from the AIP (auto immune protocol/paleo) Diet that I can't eat any grains.

It's only for 4 to 6 weeks, and you amass a whole lot of info from it. It clears out the gut to "start again". I've tried to advise members on other forums on HU who are literally suicidal and have dreadful mental health symptoms. They refuse to listen and take on board what the new research is saying very clearly.
