In the USA. I was taking 75mcg if Tirosint and due to cost could no longer afford as it’s not on my current formulary. I was able to stockpile several boxes before switching Medicare plans. During this process my dosage changed to 88mcg. I was compounding t4 in an olive oil suspension at 100mcg (makes for easy adjustments). I’m now alternating a75 cap with 100mcg of compounded t4 every other day. This gets me to 87.5mcg/day. I’ve not noticed any difference in doing this. I was put on Tirosint due to horrible reactions (all firsts at 65/66) to mylan levo and synthroid.
Gosh didn't know Levo is available in liquid form!
I was talking to a Biomedical Scientist and she suggested it. My Gp has never mentioned it. I researched it and most people say it may be better absorbed. I went armed with information expecting a fight with my Gp but she prescribed it straight away. Its much more exoensive than tablets...that's why they dont you about it.
I was prescribed liquid Levothyroxine in February by an endocrinologist, I have subclinical hypothyroidism. She said absorption is better with the liquid form. There is some data on it but I can’t remember who did the trials. I did ok for 3 months until my GP withdrew the liquid it due to high costs. I was put on tablet levo and started to feel unwell very quickly. I’ve also gained 3/4 stone in weight since taking the tablets and my RT3 has shot up. I’ve lowered my levo dose and added T3....fingers crossed this combo works for me.
Im finding all this overwhelming. Day 2 of liquid and I feel worse. Im irritable..crying..and so so tired. Does it get worse before it feels better?
What’s your pulse and temperature like? You might have a slight overload. Worth keeping an eye and BP too.
I did ok on liquid it’s tablet form I don’t get on with.
Thank you Lynn-2... I dont feel I have a temp, pulse seems ok. Have no idea re BP. Im getting bloods done on weds. Thinking of not taking any levo until after I get test results. I dont understand them. I will post them on here and hope someone can help me understand. Feel very uneducated about all this.
Really hope your little cocktail is working for you.

If you want to know how you are doing on your current dose you might want to stay with it until you do the blood test (lower it a bit if you feel you have to do something)... take your levo dose day before the blood draw you can take your daily . You should also have thyroid labs done as early as possible in the morning best before 9am. Fasting for 12 hours before the blood draw is recommended drinking water only for that period.
Also test Vit D, B12 and full iron panel. I’m often low in potassium which makes me feel really crummy, it’s definitively worth getting it checked alongside sodium too.
Good luck.
