Countries in Europe for T3 without prescription

Hope someone can advise... I went to see an endocrinologist who has suggested a T3 trial as my dose of Levethyroxine (350micrograms a day) isnt curing symptoms- but my GP has refused and said if I get it on private prescription from the Endo they won’t support me going forward and I’ll need to get the Endo to do ongoing monitoring from then on. No way I can afford that on an ongoing basis as it’s a pretty penny for the consultations never mind the drug costs and blood tests to check it. If I manage to get the trial paying myself and it helps does anyone know which countries in Europe you can buy T3 over the counter so that I can continue it if it works. And, are you allowed to go abroad for a weekend and carry it back in to the U.K.? Sorry it that’s a silly question! Thanks for any help anyone can offer

There seems to be a serious shortage of T3 altogether in Europe from manufacturers.

Why do you need to tell your GP that you have T3 on a private prescription? If all you want from the GP is annual blood tests (and it doesn't sound as though you are getting much support), just don't tell them.

Sorry I probably didn’t explain that well. I don’t have a private prescription. The Endo sent a letter to the GP asking him to give me an NHS prescription.. they said no and told me if I want a prescription I need to go back to the Endo for a private one, but even if I did that once I couldnt afford to do that on an ongoing basis (he’s £200 per consultation and my private medical doesn’t cover ongjng conditions, just an initial consultation). I’ve looked at the other threads from people asking similar questions but am struggling to actually find definitive answers to the question of where in Europe you can buy it over the counter, and If it’s okay to carry it in. I’d be happy to go abroad to the right place once a year and get it If I could just figure out where that place is and be confident I wasn’t doing anything dodgy buying myself a supply and bringing it home.

If you’re buying T3, You’re better off ditching the Endo and using this forum. Go for blood tests and don’t tell your GP. Are you taking your T4 at the right time and way? Have you tried or changed different brands some of our brands don’t agree with some people. Are you taking decent vitamins and supplements? As these are the building blocks for Levo to work properly. If change doctors if that’s their attitude. His/ her beliefs are keeping you unwell, while they are not coming up with a solution but yet their still getting paid.

Yes you can come back with 3-6 months worth for your own or your households use. It’s a grey area but customs are looking for ‘proper’ drugs. It’s for them to prove that you don’t need all 50 bottles! But that’s if by some miracle you manage to find some. Most countries have clamped down on making the ‘good stuff’. I only know of Turkey otc but it may need to be ordered in so s weekend may not be long enough.

Never a silly question when it’s to do with your health. And as Marz said do a search. I’ve inboxed you my personal country experience.
