T3 from where?

Seen endocrinologist privately today and he’s suggested I take T3 as am not converting. He said my options are to buy it from boots online for £100 for a month or literally go to France to get six months supply. Can anyone recommend alternatives or safe websites to buy from? Thanks very much

No point in you coming to France. T3 is prescription only, here. You might find a pharmacist who will take pity on a tourist and let you have the odd box, but not six months supply - they will only give one month at a time even with a prescription!

OK, but you still wouldn't get 6 months supply, even if they accept a UK prescription, which isn't certain.

Hello did you get a private prescription?

Does he think you're a millionaire? Endocrinologists are supposed to prescribe if the patient has a 'clinical need'.

I think it is disgraceful as he has also stated you are not converting but said you should source outside the NHS.

You should not have to source your own life-giving hormone through the internet - after all it is for a lifetime.

You should complain to your local MP and the following was a couple of weeks ago. Some MPs may not yet be aware of the T3 Campaign.

The following excerpt is from TUK:

17. The joint clinical working group therefore recommended the prescribing of liothyronine for any new patient should be initiated by a consultant endocrinologist in the NHS, and that de-prescribing in ‘all’ patients is not appropriate, as there are recognised exceptions. The recommendation would therefore be changed to advise prescribers to de-prescribe in all appropriate patients.

I will close post so that information will not be inadvertently posted but you will get private messages. I would aim, first of all, for the NHS to prescribe.
