How do l half meds?

Hi sorry folks l haven't been around for a while. I have some 100mg levothyroxin but only want to take 50mg a day. I tried cutting them in half which is not very easy because they crumble. Would it be okay to take 100mg every other day. Thanks in advance.

My husband uses a pill cutter that he got from Amazon. It works better than a knife although it crumbles a bit.

Yer l am using a pill cutter. I use it on other tablets that l take and it's fine but the levo just crumbles to much.

Have you tried just breaking them with your thumbs ? I spilt my 100s and have no crumbling problem.

Or take 100mcg tablet alternate days, that won't be a problem.

OK thanks. Im not happy trying to half it. So I'll try the every other day if you think that's ok.

It will be fine to alternate.

I need 112.5mcg Levo. I have 100s and 50s Levo tablets. I halve a 50 tablet then take 100mcg every day and 25mcg alternate days = average 112.5mcg. Works fine for me.
