As my previous post said my GP will not i increase my levo from 100mg,I had spare 50.mg which I have been breaking in half to give me the 125 mh ( a 25 mg increase since my last blood test) Not sure why but the chemist seem to have goven me double 100 mg levo as im running out of the 50 mg how do I cut the 100mg into quarters? Or could I take 100 mg one day and 150 the next or best to stay on 125 a day ?Thanks

Have you booked another appointment and asked a different GP at the same practice for an increase?

Having some spare Levo right now is fine but will soon run out if your prescription isn't adjusted.

I presonally prefer to have the same dose each day. You can buy a pill cutter at most chemists and it should be easy enough to quarter your 100mcg pills depending on the pill coating and size of them.

I had the same issue but pushed it advising that I was aware of my symptoms. GP changed his mind and increased my dose when I requested an Endo referral!

Hi Dawney,

you shouldnt be having to cut up the tablets. I use 100mgs (Accord is the brand and use to be actavis) and only use 25mgs (brand Mercury Pharma). Im in sussex but these brands are usually available from Boots pharmacies around the country. Go back to your GP. Or if you can afford it , would go privately as last resort (Nuffield hospitals and Spire are scattered around the country and usually can find good GP's or Endo's if you prefer to help). Or you could have consultation with Roseway Pharmacy (they are on the Thyroid UK website as well) and maybe they can help supply you with the 25mgs.. Best wishes and hope it works out

HiThank you,

the advice i have been given is to stay on the same brand which is accord brand, they only make a 100 mg tablet or a 50 mg tablet, my gp has refused to increase my levo but for some unknown reason the chemist have given me more 100 mg.
