Over-medicated?

I recently (6 weeks ago) increased my Levo dose from 112.5 to 125 daily. Below are my latest blood test results: whilst T4 has increased from 17.9 to 22.30, T3 has barely moved at all. My TgAb has continued to reduce. I feel ok, neither better nor worse than I did before the increase. What do you wise people think? Should I go back to my previous dose? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I assume you had a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levothyroxine and the blood test?

Yes. About 30 hour gap and fasting and early morning.

Maybe you'd feel better if a little T3 was added to T4 as your FT3 could be raised. Sometimes reducing levo and adding T3 is beneficial. Many source their own T3 because if you're in the UK few doctors will prescribe. Quite a number of researchers have shown that a T3/T4 combo works well for many people.

Thanks for your response. I have some T3. Should I reduce the Levo before I try it? They are 25mcg so I guess I need no more than a nibble.

If you have T3 to hand, reduce your levo back to the old dose, and add in 6.25 mcg T3 - I presume they are 25 mcg tablets, if not, start with 5 mcg.

Thanks Greygoose. I’ll try splitting them. They’re very little though. Do I take it at the same time as the Levo?

Yes, you can take it with the levo.

T3 tablets are all small, but can be cut quite easily. :)

You can cut T3 into 1/4's pretty easily by using a small craft knife or scalpel

What's your vitamin D levels and ferritin like?

Folate could be a bit higher. Do you supplement a good quality vitamin B complex, one with folate in?

Thanks. My Vit D levels were quite low and I’m supplementing. Just about to jet off to Crete so hopefully they’ll get a bit of a boost. Ferritin is slightly over range and I’m going to start taking a B complex. I’m not very consistent taking supplements.
