How awful, why on earth would they suggest you terminate your pregnancy?! I think only you can decide whether to do that and it's not something to just decide on a whim anyway.

I know someone on here will have the answers to your thyroid level question, however, I just wanted to reach out to you and say stay in your heart about your little one. Don't let anyone sway you to making a decision either way. Your heart knows what is best.

Have a beautiful pregnancy!

Hello, I was wondering how you got on with this?

How awful for you. What are they doing about the high TSH. Are you on any levothyroxine at all?

Wow, that's huge TSH and very low t4.

Are you on meds? Have your TSH dropped down since?

Are you under close doctors monitoring? Endo, gyne... ?

In this situation you need to work closely with your doctors, no forum is going to give you appropriate advise.

Get third or fourth opinion if you're stil not satisfied.

What a shock for you. I hope you have been prescribed levothyroxine immediately at 50mcg with a blood test every six weeks with a 25mcg increase.

Blood tests always have to be at the very earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards.

It is o.k. for some doctors to be very casual in their response and forget they are talking to someone who has been told they're pregnant but hypothyroid. Some mother miscarry but many have successful pregnancies.

They should have prescribed at least 100mcg of levothyroxine immediately. I am not medically qualified but I know you can take a whole week's dose once weekly. This is an excerpt from link below:

"I have hypothyroidism and am TTC. My mum also likely had in when PG with me but it was not known then it was picked up inbetween kids. I was born healthy and am normal :)

A lot of women have it picked up in pregnancy. You've picked it up in early pregnancy which is great and are doing what you can to get things to normal. You'll probably have blood tests in a few weeks to see how its tracking as they have to find the right balance for your meds.

I can't help you with an endo as I'm in Sydney but do get in to see one as they can help you relax and check and tweak your dosage as required.

Even people on meds can have spikes. I was stable for years TSH of around 1 and then in my preconception testing it shot up to 11 4 months after my last test! Under my endos guidance we have got it down to normal with some more blood tests and med adjustments.
