Good morning, I am not happy at the moment I want to come off the levothyroxine and go onto GET.
I saw my new doctor at my new Surgery yesterday and explained to him how I felt.
He said no to coming off the levothyroxine and no to T3 or NDT.
Even though I am on NDT bought from Thailand which I bought in December 2017 I take a quarter of a tablet in the morning and a tablet in the afternoon.
I have lost a lot of weight actually I was 75kg and now I am 52kg.
I still have thyroid symptoms. I am still tired, memory is terrible, I ache all over at the end of the day. I try to eat healthy food which I cook from scratch. I have so sex drive and I am worried about my toilet movements.
So blood tests tomorrow lunch time. Once the results come in I will be referred to an endocrinologist at the local hospital.
I wish I was normal again.
I hate taking these tablets. I have helped with the t3 campaign, spoke to my MP and the CCG. In reply was the same as always unable to help you.
Can anyone help me with lots of advice please, I am going nuts.

Firstly there is no reason why you can't feel 'normal' again, we totally understand how you are feeling. I for one don't feel great at the moment, so I totally understand.
For best thyroid results you need to have bloods taken as early as possible in the morning, I see you say they will be taken lunch time, any chance you can change this?
Also if you are still taking Levo (I think you mentioned you still are) then don't take your dose that morning of blood test, no eating and just drink water.
If you still have all the thyroid symptoms that means you are not on the correct dosage to make you feel better.
Many have changed to NDT and go it alone as Levo is not working for them.
I am currently on Levo and my dosage has now been increased to 100mcg, I feel awful, but, I know I have to give it time. I have a blood test in 5- 6 weeks to see how my Thyroid is coping.
If there is no improvement on Levo then I will go onto NDT. GP's and the 'specialist' try to frightened you about NDT, but, if you are happy to take matters into your own hands by making sure you take regular blood tests and check your vitamins, what's the crime in wanting to feel well again.
Make sure your TSH, T4 and T3 are tested.
I had an argument with the nurse last time I had my bloods done as she wasn't going to tick T3 to be tested. Anyway, after I told her my GP had said he looks at the bigger picture on thyroid results and I bamboozled her with my knowledge on thyroid (thanks to this forum) I guess she wanted to shut me up and did tick T3 box.
If they refuse this then pay for private blood testing Medi checks and Blue horzon offer this as well as vitamin level checks. The results are also sent to you directly.
Then you can post them on here, and the experts will guide you.
I'm confused. What is GET? And, you say in the beginning you want to come of levo, but later you say you take NDT. So, which is it? And how much are you taking in total?
I have to say, there's little chance of you getting NDT prescribed, but if you're already buying your own, why not continue? Having your labs done at lunchtime won't help your case, either, because your TSH will be low. Just don't take any of your hormone, that morning. Take it after the blood draw.
Sorry for the post yesterday, stupid correction thing on my tablet. What I was ment to say was NDT Not GET which the tablet put.
Yes I haven't taken Any tablets this morning blood tests at 12.30. I will continue to take the NDT I got from Thailand, but I want to come off the thyoxine but the doctor says NO that is final. T3 out of the question and NDT is not prescribed by GPs only by an endocrinologist. So I will get my blood test results ask for a copy of them and continue my routine as usual.
Thank you for your help and advice. Been with this condition for 10 years now. But recently found out that it is hereditary, my father had it my mother has it and so does my brother.
