Hi there guys i am reading bits and pieces on thyroid nodules increasing due to tsh at a lower range( the lower the tsh the nodules will grow)? I have several nodules and back in march had felt better has i had no swallowing problems and tightness in the throat pressure, at this time my tsh was around 2.35 but now 1.80 but my frees are still lower in the range, i had the same feeling of this throat sensation when i was 1st hyperthyroid with high frees and a 0.05 tsh, can you help -what does increase them or reduce them-does tsh play a part? I see my endo again on tuesday so i will discuss it further-im currently on just 2.5mgs carbimazole. Ive read that the lower the tsh this will increase nodules-where a higher tsh decreases??
I don't really know anything about hyper, but I do know that you can have nodules when hypo with high TSH. This artcile suggests that lower TSH is better: academic.oup.com/jcem/artic.... "Treatment with l-thyroxine (LT4), which reduces serum TSH, is associated with significantly lower risk of developing clinically detectable thyroid cancer." But whether it is actually the TSH itself or having higher thyroid hormones, the study doesn't say.
Thankyou angel, there is so much conflicting info, but it could be a simple fact that i need to lower this damn carbimazole again. I just think i felt better when tsh was above 2 but there again it could be my frees?? Ooh i give up lol๐๐ thanks i will read that.xx
