25mcg is a very low dose and you may well feel worse before you improve ! 50mcg is the usual starting dose. Are you booked in for a re-test in 6/8 weeks ? - and for dose adjustment.

Do you have Hashimotos ? Do you have copies of test results ?

Also I read you have MS so it is vitally important you have the following tested - B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD. Often low when Hypo or with MS.

Read an amazing post recently on another Forum - someone had been diagnosed with MS only to find she had B12 Deficiency caused by PA - Pernicious Anaemia.

If you have MS, have you looked at the work of Dr. Coimbra?

I would get a blood test for Free T4 and Free T3 as I have read that some people are mistakenly diagnosed as have M.S. due to their symptoms alone. These are symptoms of hypothyroidism and many of us have been undiagnosed despite severe symptoms because the TSH didn't rise high enough to be diagnosed, i.e. in other countries people are diagnosed if TSH is above 3. In the UK it is 10.

Your doctor probably wont be able to do the above two Frees but you can get a private test from one of our two recommended labs.

Medichecks have a special offer of some sort every Thursday.

Blue Horizon also are good for testing.

They are pin-prick tests and blood draw should be t the earliest, fasting and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take afterwards. Make sure you are well hydrated a couple of days before so blood draw is easy.

One of our doctors, deceased, was said to have stated the following - copied from another post:-

"I think it's Dr S who wrote in his book that anyone with MS should be treated for hypothyroidism because the hormones help the MS symptoms, I think he said it was the first thing to look at, so if you can't get any info about treating both together you might try phoning his clinic for advice.

Vitamin D deficiency is thought to exacerbate MS, so it's a good idea to top up your levels, and actually the only person I know with MS who took matters into her own hands and moved to the sun did feel much better there."
