What were you diagnosed with in 1983? And, how was it diagnosed? Were antibodies tested? I think people might need a little more information before being able to say anything helpful.
You seem to be managing your hyperthyroidism pretty well. If you are asking if reverting back to blocking your thyroid and feeling well on that dose, I don't see why not if you can get testing done again and actually know. I'm not familiar with anyone doing that. What usually happens is that years later you become hypo-thyroid. A person I know is not treating it with thyroid hormone at the moment but might in the future. Was there a pregnancy involved?
Thankyou for reply my username is Aerobics to go.just to say in those days I was on carbimazole propenol and diazepam
Things have really changed since then. Has I say I would just have blood test and medication adjusted according to the test. I am feeling
Ok at the moment but as I suffer from.c.o.p.d.and had a bad chest infection I thought my thyroid might be going overactive again. However I do believe I am settling down a bit. When the coronavirus is over I am having one more test to see if its stable and seeing doctor at hospital
It would be hard to decipher your symptoms but usually an infection will bring down thyroid activity. How is your D3? This has a lot to do with infections if low. Also, did you try changing your diet? A Keto diet or gluten or dairy free? Serrapeptase can be effective for mucus situations also n-acetyl-cysteine.
Did you have another username ? - as this appears to be your first post - and no replies from you. Perhaps another Forum 🤔
Do you think you may have Hashimotos ? Which anti-bodies were tested ?
Hello ! Anyone there ?
Wow....I thought my thyroid issue had been long. From the last quarter of 2018 to now. Well for me I stopped taking it after 2 months cos I had weak bones. Then took other traditional drugs, and other natural stuff...but it didn't help, i got very dark, infact my skin got "burnt". Then after a whole year, I came back to it, added fruits and veggie. By God's grace, He is making me well. With God, peace of mind, fruits, veggies and Carbimazole....I beleive you can make it.
I don't think you should go off carbimazole without your doctor advising so, based on a current good thyroid function test.
