Hi everyone, Nov 2017 I had thyroidectomy because of 2 things, 1 cos I have Familial Adenomatous Polyposis Coli ,and 2 cos of nodules, after surgery I was put on 150 mcg of levothyroxin, found out thyroid levels were 61, next blood test was 11 ish, then the last was about 7.8, unfortunately I was due surgery on lower back ( Discectomy) but cos abnormal readings this has been postponed twice now. Gone from taking 150 mcg to 175 mcg and now on 200mcg. Has anyone experienced anything similar?.
Thyroidectomy : Hi everyone, Nov 2017 I had... - Thyroid UK
Thyroidectomy
I don't understand your question similar to what? Please explain are you taking
about the TSH reading together with the dosage?
Sorry Bunnyjean, I meant to ask whether anyone has had any surgeries postponed because of abnormal thyroid readings.
I never had any problems but I was living in France when I had mine removed and my trachea was causing problems with my breathing.
However, when I was living in the UK even though I had the same problems the doctors
and Endos were more than happy to leave me to get on with it. They just left me and I will never forget it.
Are you taking it first thing in the morning with a sip of water and waiting 1/2 hour to eat?
Hi Jean66, I take levothyroxin with juice every morning and before breakfast, sometimes well after breakfast. Have many other health issues, 1being narcolepsy, so unfortunately fall asleep without warning, this interferes with timing of my medications, so taking medication at the right times is almost impossible.
Perhaps this is why such a high dose seems to be required? I would try water as most literature specifies water and empty stomach. The juice maybe acting like food. Good luck.
