For Hashi's, you can help reduce the antibodies by adopting a strict gluten free diet and supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily .

How are you nutrient levels now? Do you have any current test results and are you supplementing?

What are your latest thyroid test results? That will tell you if you need T3 (liothyronine) if you have TSH, FT4 and FT3 all tested at the same time.

Very difficult to get T3 on the NHS now, even patients already prescribed it are having it removed.

Welcome to our forum Elizabeth42 and am really sorry you have had hypo since you were 3, so you have never really known what it is to be well and healthy.

Have you ever been diagnosed as hypothyroid? If not you should have been. Have you been prescribed a thyroid hormone replacement? Levothyroxine for instance?

Do you have blood test results you can post, with the ranges? Ranges are the figures in brackets.

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

All blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards. Doctor should also test B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. Everything has to be optimal.

I suggest you request a new blood test and ask for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. He or lab may not do all of them, but those not tested can be done through one of our private labs who do home pin-prick tests.

It is time you began to recover your health, with the support of members. Always make sure your ranges are also stated after the results, otherwise members cannot comment without ranges.

Did your nutritionist test your antibodies? I didn't know they did that sort of thing.
