No, they are two different conditions that happen within the intestines. One can have either or both and at the same time

Diverticulitis is when pockets (Small bulges, or diverticula, develop in the lining of the large intestines) become inflamed or infected. Although the indication is that they happen due to a diet very low in fiber, the exact cause is not very known.

Leaky gut, also known as intestinal permeability, is when the lining of the small and/or the large intestines become compromised (like having small tears into a cheesecloth) and food particles and/or undigested proteins 'leak' through into the bloodstream and trigger an immune reaction. This could happen due to many reasons, for example, gluten, alcohol, antibiotics, antacids.
