Those of you with under active thyroids, how much have you lost. Has anyone lost a huge amount, 5/6 stone +? Thanks x

Weight loss & hypothyroidism
My weight has been a constant battle..... I’ve given up now 😂 I eat healthy but it doesn’t shift.
I've lost 2.5 stone when I was properly medicated with added t3 within 6 months on 5:2 diet.
Then I hit a plateau, at the same time my GP stopped t3 and I gained all that weight back and some within a year and I was still under eating trying to stop that weight gain.
been on 75mcg at least 10 years never lost any weight x
This bodes well then! 😏
After been stuck at a plateau I’m shifting the weight again these past few days.
I would recommend something along the lines of the blood sugar diet. Not seen that mentioned much on here - ditch carbs, gluten and starchy vegetables and low fat junk, diet food garbage. NOTHING works for me unless I eliminate carbs.
Add sour foods to salads - sauercraut, pickles, kimchee. Fresh herbs in abundance to salads.
What have you tried so far Jimjam87 ?
Hi Jimjam87 - I lost 7 and a half stone 25 years ago. I have put a stone back on over the last couple of years) I have Hashimotos. I have always been on levothyroxine and for years I seemed o.k. It is really the last 4 years or so that I have " gone down hill " !!.
Hi Jimjam
I've been hypo for at least 25 years and always struggled with my weight. Hit a crisis 2 years ago and saw a functional practitioner - she suggested my gut was in such a bad way that i wasnt absorbing my meds (150levo). She said no sugar, no dairy, no refined carbs, fermented or processed food for 12 weeks. I lost over 4 stone and have kept it off. It felt like mission impossible at first but was doable and worth it. I don't follow the regime so strictly now, but it has changed my eating habits completely.
