My spirit is kind of low, as I learn yesterday my optic nerve is swollen in both of my eyes. I been reading a lot of different things on the internet that has only made me feel worst .I know that graves can cause this problem , but I don't know if hashi can cause this to happen . Before my thyroid was removed last month my thyriod condition would flip flop from overactive to underactive which caused a lot of inflammation on my thyroid . Is it possible that my thyriod could have cause my optic nerves to be swollen? According to what I have learn about hashimoto disease it attacks the immune system. I really do need some good input on this. In the mean time I'm praying that everything will be okay. Please pray for me as well. Thank you!

Do you know your levels of B12 & VitD ? I ask - not because I am an expert - but know that B12 is involved in the Myelin sheath thst protects all nerves. Also low VitD seems to be involved in eye conditions as it is anti-inflammatory.
Thank you so much for responding. I want to say my B12 level is ok I'm not sure because its been a while since I had it checked . my VitD level is a 17 or maybe below. I been vitamin D ddeficeint for a while now due to not being able to tolerate the vitamin. I'm going to get B12 checked again.
Your B12 is good above 500 - so do not let Docs tell you it is fine bumping along the bottom of the range Have you tried VitD drops under the tongue ? If you are going to have B12 checked then also check Folate - which works with B12 in the body in a very special way Also Add Ferritin and VitD .... As you had a TT last month I am wondering if they are keeping an eye on your thyroid levels.
One of the symptoms of my body needing another B12 jab - is that my eyes suffer. Had a bleed very close to the optic nerve a few years ago now so am wary.
