Private Endo Appointment

Hi Everyone,

So...I have Graves disease... still waiting on appointment to see Endo, GP put me on 40mg of Carbimazole just over 2 months ago. T4 was at 35 (range 9 - 20) at the time. TSH <0.01. Last monday results were TSH still same and T4 13.9. When i called for results i was told by reception lady that she had to tell patient (me) that results were normal... i enquired about continuing to take 40 mgs and she said GP will phone me back! So he did... and dropped dose to 20mgs but only after I expressed concern over dropping T4 levels (and feeling really exhausted). So i phoned NHS booking dept to see how far away from Endo app I acctually am and was so gutted with response, they said the wait is currently about 26 weeks, so from receiving my referal in dec 2017...i should be seen in mid June! I cant wait til mid june with my GP guessing (well...trying his best...he is a very good GP...i like him).... so i booked a private endo app this friday with Dr Babu Mukhopadhyay. Has anyone seen him? Any advice to get as much out of app as possible?

Hi Gymgirl!

Just came across your post.

Am seriously considering consulting an endocrinologist privately. Wondered how you got on with Dr Mukhopadhyay and whether you would recommend him. Also, could you advise on the length of the consultation and the fee involved please?
