Dear all my tpo antibodies have come down significantly but my tg antibodies have shot up - I have been following a strict gluten, dairy and soy free diet, supplement and take LDN. Should I be concerned with high tg result if my tpo are come by down?

Thanks Chris

No, they are completely independent of each other, and both of them fluctuate all the time. It doesn't mean anything.

Thanks grey goose what does high tg normally signify - does it mean my thyroid is still being attacked?

Thanks chris

As long as you have a thyroid, it will be attacked. When the thyroid is dead, the antibodies will go away. So, high antibodies just means that you have Hashi's. But, there's no degree of having Hashi's. You have or you haven't. :)

Unfortunately going gluten and dairy free doesn't necessarily mean your antibodies will drop - mine have not after 18 months GF and 12 months DF. So much so that I am now eating small amounts of dairy again. If you have Hashi's your ab's can go up and down all the time, this is part of the disease I'm afraid.
