Low temperature after exercise.....

Could someone please explain why my body temperature after a 2 hour steady walk is only 34.5 degrees? I feel warm and slightly sweaty , so was wondering why it should be so low.

It was 35.9 this morning on waking.

I would have thought after exercise it should be higher than that.

Would be grateful if anyone can enlighten me.

Many thanks x

You've probably over-done it and depleted your T3, leaving you more hypo. Do you know your FT3 level?

Hi grey goose, thank you for your reply.

My last results were on 100 mcg of Levothyroxine:

TSH 0.035 ( 0.3-4.2)

FT4 22 ( 12-22)

FT3 4.95 ( 3.1-6.8)

I’m now on 75 mcg as gp said my TSH was too low !!!!! So I guess those stats will be lower now.

I’m supplementing with all vitamins recommended on this site.

I’m still having symptoms of exteme fatigue and lethargy, pain in wrists , hair loss, weight gain plus more....

I have some T3, do you think I could add a little to my now reduced Levothyroxine? Do you think it might help to bring my body temperature up, as it’s only ever around 36.1/2/3 at the best of times .... ? And hopefully help some of the symptoms mentioned that I experience on a daily basis.

Many thanks grey goose, xx

I think it would be a very good idea to add the T3 to your reduced levo. Your FT3 is only just mid-range, and most people need it up the top of the range to feel well. Your FT4 on the other hand, was right up the top of the range, so you weren't converting very well.

Do you have a sustainable source of T3? Because no point starting it if you can't carry on taking it. You would need to start on a low dose and work up slowly. So, start with 1/4 tablet, and increase by 1/4 tablet every two weeks until you reach 1 whole pill. Hold for six weeks and retest. :)

Grey goose thank you so much for that advice.

I got some T3 some time ago for a ‘ just in case ‘ scenario from the ‘ supply’ company, but understand they are not very reliable any more.

Could you possibly help me out with a reliable source please and pm me ?

Thanks x

I'm afraid I can't! My source just seems to have disappeared, too. :(

Oh no !!! I will try to ‘ shop around ‘ and will pm you if I’m successful. I know of a private doctor who may be able to help out. Will let you know if I’m successful after I’ve seen him . Good luck on trying to find a new source xx

I have the same problem, and from what I have a read it's usually an adrenal problem, with low cortisol. I've been taking ACE for the last 3 months and seems to be helping.

Thank you for your response TerryN13.

Is ACE vitamins ? Pardon my ignorance. I’m not very well up on all this ....

I did wonder if it was an adrenal issue that I had....

Glad to hear it seems to be working for you though.

According to my Abbreviations and Acronyms document:

ACE Angiotensin-converting enzyme

ACE Adrenal Cortex Extract

ACE Vitamins A, C and E

In this case, I suspect the middle one.
