Very low TSH

Hi,

I just got my blood results back. The TSH levels had decreased further in comparison to the result I’ve got in February. Do I need to decrease my current dosage ? I’m currently taking 50mcg on weekdays and 75 mcg weekend. My results were as follow:

FT4: 18.1 pmol/L (9.0-25.0)

FT3: 6.2 pmol/L (3.5-6.5)

TSH: 0.112 mIU/L (0.400-4.700)

How do you feel? You are only on very low dose

Your results look pretty good, but you may still have vitamin deficiencies. Then results can be deceptive

Your previous post, you had very low vitamin D recently. How much are you supplementing to improve, has it been retested yet? Level needs to be around 100nmol

What about levels of B12, folate and ferritin. These need testing and if low will need supplementing too

Important to test all these

Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

I think I’m feeling quite normal except for having constipation quite frequently.

I haven’t start supplementing my vitamin D yet. I ordered online and it only reach my place after I flown back to my hometown for personal reason. I’m thinking to start when I’m back.

I also haven’t get the chance to test the levels of b12, folate and ferritin. Will try to get it tested within this few days.

And yes, I’m on strictly gluten free diet.

Many on here find supplementing magnesium helps constipation

Magnesium often low when vitamin D is low too

Noted. What recommended dosage do I need to take for supplementing magnesium ? In addition, do you think I should lower down the dosage of my Levo? Say instead of taking 75mcg on both sat and sun, I only take it on Sunday.

Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and easy to use. Definitely start on very low dose (can cause opposite of constipation!)

Full daily dose is 2 teaspoons, perhaps start with just 1/4 teaspoon. Must be at least 4 hours away from taking Levo. Afternoon or evening (depending if you take Levo in morning or bedtime)

You can also use Epsom salt bath (magnesium) or magnesium oil leg spray too, though neither of these will likely improve constipation

Personally I would stay on same dose of Levo. Getting vitamins optimal will most likely improve the rate you use thyroid hormones

Here you go HB

amazon.co.uk/Natural-Vitali...

It's the one I use, I always buy the original, unflavoured variety. The 16oz size is always best value (there is an 8oz size) but the price does vary so I keep my eye on it and buy when reasonably priced . Not too bad at the moment.

I dissolve mine in a small amount of warm water then add some orange juice. Just had mine and off to bed now.

Noted ! But will staying on the same dose of levo and restoring back my vitamin levels to optimal further decrease my TSH ?

No it may slowly increase TSH as you are better able to use thyroid hormones and metabolism improves
