Doctor prescribed me this for b12 !! Please help..
Amy, there's nothing to be afraid of. It's rather unusual to find B12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid together in a capsule like that, but the ALA is good for people who are suffering from B12 deficiency neuropathy? Do you have neuropathy? If not, take it back to your doctor and tell him it's not what you want. And that parabens are really not a good idea. We've got enough problems without that!
Already he prescribed another tablet m-strong for b12 I changed it to this tablet... Now again can't go and ask him... Dont know what to do mam.. neuropathy means ???
If I were you, I'd ask over on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum:
Let them know what B12 and folate tests you've had and a bit of background.
Most prescription meds have nasty additives and colours in them. Not a lot you can do. But the ingredients are good. I wonder if they'd work if you punctured the capsule and just used the contents? The capsule shell is the nasty bit.
I'm afraid I can't answer that question. I used to take 600 mg, I don't know if it's any good at a lower dose. I was just telling Amy not to be afraid of it, not pronouncing on its efficacy.
I still can't answer the question. All I know is that when I took 600 mg, I didn't have any problems, and didn't feel it was reducing my T3. But then, I take a high dose of T3, so perhaps that makes the difference. I just don't have enough experience to be able to say.
Oh well, obviously affected my memory, too! lol
