I don't understand. Your FT3 is just about at the top of the range, yet you say you have trouble converting? Are you taking T3? It's always helpful to tell us what you're taking and how much.
If you're taking T3, your rT3 is probably going to be high because of that high FT4. So, all you need to do to reduce the rT3 - and you should do it without even seeing the rT3 - is reduce your levo.
If you're not taking T3, then you have nothing to complain about as far as your conversion is concerned, but you could be on too high a dose of levo.
There is no proof that rT3 causes symptoms. So, rather than go to all that expense of testing it, just correct what is wrong in your existing labs and the rT3 will reduce.
Or, your symptoms could be due to nutritional deficiencies (so could high rT3, come to that). So, have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested?
I asked the question because I still have all the Hypo symptoms although my blood test looks good. And I wondered if a test could give me the reason why?
In the past on Levo or NDT it has not worked for me and I become toxic through not being unable to convert T4.
At present I am taking Metavive 111. Before this I had a blood test for my Vit d, B12, etc: and all came back o.k., then I started Metavive slowly working up to 5 a day, I also take 2 Adrenavive.
To be honest my thyroid blood test looks better than its ever done before and I was hoping I would feel better. In the past though I've never tested positive for antibodies like now, I just wonder if I've taken too much Metavive because I did get a sore throat for awhile when I first started taking it, although its o.k. now.
I am going to reduce the amount and see how I go. If you have any other comments they are much appreciated thanks kat
OK, well it could be the antibodies the problem. It could be that you're on the tail end - or the beginning - of a Hashi's swing, as you say your levels have never been that high before. Antibodies can cause symptoms themselves. Are you doing anything to reduce them? I'm afraid I don't know anything about Metavive, so I don't know if you should reduce it.
Who said your nutrients were ok? Your doctor? I think it might be a good idea if you posted them here and let us have a look. OK is not the same as optimal. And it's optimal we need.
