Hi there i have been doing alot of reading lately on the thyroid and im wondering-apart from the bog standard tests should my endo be testing for anything else?
I have had full thyroid panel, tpo but sadly after several attempts of me asking he refuses to do tsi as he states everybody has graves!! π¨
Also had ferritin, b12, folate, vit d.
Shoot me down if im jumping the gun abit but ive been reading about the pituitary gland and thymus as they are all connected with our thyroids but at what stage or if at all this would be tested for problems? Just wanting to make sure that nothing goes amiss as we know too well what endos are like.x thankyou guys.ππ

If you had a pituitary problem, your TSH would be either low - but probably not suppressed - or high. If your TSH were low because of a pituitary problem, you Frees would also be low. But, if your TSH were high due to a pituitary problem, your Frees would also be high.
You have - or had - suppressed TSH and moderately high Frees. So, I don't think that that suggests a pituitary problem. But, how can you ever know anything for certain if the moron won't test for Grave's! Does he actually know what Grave's is, as he says that 'everyone has it'? I agree with Angel, can't you see someone else?
Lol you know the trouble i've had with these Endo's they are useless!!π i did think about changing but i could be going from bad to worse.
Yes i know you are right with regards to other tests-according to endo i am now normal i just wish i felt it gg.
Tsh is now 1.13 0. 350-4.94
Free3 3.5 2.6-5.7
Free4 12.8 9-19.0
Still on that 2.5mgs Gg but saying to endo i want 1.25mgs or every other day then maybe my frees will raise some and i will feel great-i think he will say every other day.ππ
Yes, your Frees are very low, so not surprising you don't feel well. But, they only look at the TSH and have no idea about the rest! I think, were it me, I would say that if he didn't reduce my dose, I would stop taking it altogether. Ultimatums often work.
Yes i thought they were low, so im upping the game here, i did threaten that last time when he wanted me to stay on 5mgs- you are right it does work but he threatned me with discharge from his care. Lolπjust like he wants me to stay on 2.5-im afraid not!!. Thanks gg.xx hope you are well as i have not heard from you in a while.x
So that's "normal normal" TSH, low in range free t3 and low in range free t4 (both not even mid range). I'd say too much carbi now, but I don't really know anything about hyper. I was treated for secondary hypo with results not much different from that!
No i think your'e right-im happy to reduce-i will stretch it out till 10th when i see...him who knows best so he doesnt have a titty tantrum when ive reduced meds myself!!xx
