Hello,

I am going to start taking T3 and was wondering it if it helped anyone?

Suffering from hair loss currently and wondered if it helped anyone with that, also if it helps with any other symptoms?

Thanks!

Are you adding it to Levo ? Have you ensured all levels are good for B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD - to ensure thyroid hormones work well ?

Has your Endo given you advice on how much to take ?

Everyone is different in how they react to T3. Do you have any test results with ranges ? Hair loss can be caused by nutrient deficiencies too ...

Hello,

Yes I will be adding 10mg with Levo, my Endo has looked at all my blood tests and levels and told me that this is the combo of meds I need.

Just needed some advice on whether it helped people.

Thank you!

The addition of t3 helped reduce fatigue, brain fog and joint pain but sadly not hair loss. Hope you find it helpful.

spir12345 , The almost exact same question was asked earlier, by someone who now appears to have deleted their account. Several people took the time to answer. You might like to read those comments here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

It is really annoying when people do that - after all, those responders have put in quite a bit of effort.

T3 has also helped my energy levels, brain fog and puffiness in face/joint but l still have muscle weakness/aches and joint pain . My hair and eyebrow growth began the last 2 months and I swear it’s due to taking building block supplements as advised by folk on this forum approx 14 months ago, especially once my ferritin levels got to 100 plus. When I lift the front of my hair up, I can no longer see my scalp through it and widows peaks now have fine downey hair. The center of ny hair line has tougher sticky up hair. It is years since I have seen my hair like this. For me, Ferritin and vit supplements definitely seem to have worked. I take both T3 and T4. I appreciate everyone is different but please take the advise of Marz as it has seemed to work for me. Ferritin levels do rise slowly so patience is most definitely a virtue.

Essential to have good vitamin levels, if you have Hashimoto's (high thyroid antibodies) then you may need to be gluten free as well

Absolutely, I am on Armour Thyroid, which has T3 in it. It helps in every way including hair loss. I also use Nioxin products for my hair, number 1 suits me. The difference for me was quite dramatic, like night and day. Good luck

I felt better on T3 only than thyroxine.I stayed on it for 2 years, taking my heart rate regularly & my blood pressure to fine tune my T3,but although my hair shedding stopped when I added T3 to my thyroxine, when I went on to T3-only,at 55mcgs,my hair follicles went to sleep & I stopped growing new hair.As there was no hair in the plughole or hairbrush,it was many months before I realised what was happening.I am now on NDT & am hoping my hair will start regrowing properly again, though I have my doubts,as being post-menoausal certainly doesn't help.

I'm sceptical that 10 mcgs of T3 will necessarily be enough for you & I would myself go on how I feel & free T3 blood tests, rather than what an endo says.
