Help with results please?

I'm living in Spain now and have just received the results of my latest blood test. I remembered not to take my meds but unfortunately I forgot that I should have had T3 12 hours before so the results won't be correct. Here goes anyway!

T3 total 1.02 ng/ml (0.59-2.00) This was in bold and underneath had

1.58 nmol/l (0.91-3.10) Not sure what that is?

Free T4 1.20 ng/dl (0.80-1.80)

TSH 0.07 mcUI/ml (0.23 - 5.50)

Just to clarify, I normally take my T3/T4 approx. 5/6am but didn't take either until after the test.

The Dr reckoned everything was fine with the Thyroid but pointed out my total Cholesterol was high, but the high figure is mostly due to my very high "good" cholesterol.

Total 256 mq/dl (150-200)

HDL 120 (42-65)

LDL 121 (0-130)

Is this anything I should be concerned with?

Also at 115mq/dl (60/105) she said my "sugar" is high, but didn't offer treatment for anything so I'm assuming it's not too bad?

Any thoughts or advice please?

Hi infomaniac - sorry you've not got a reply I suspect it's because the test results are in a different format to UK.

Not sure why they've highlighted your Total T3 levels in bold and underlined. The levels are within the range. However, it may be the low TSH that alarmed them and very unnecessarily. You are on a combined T4/T3; so, your TSH is likely to be suppressed.

Second figures could be your FT3 levels ?? again they are not over the range and may also suggest that there is a scope for a very small increase if needed but If you are feeling well then I wouldn't worry about your thyroid levels; however, I would start by cutting out high carbs and sugars, and add a bit of exercise; so, to reduce your blood sugar, then retest in 3 months by asking for the fasting plasma glucose test (levels on the day) and the HbA1c which gives the average over the 3 months period.

I hope this helps!

Hi researcher, thanks for replying. I am a bit unsure what to do-I could kick myself for forgetting to take my T3 :-(

I will definitely do as you suggest re carbs etc. The last thing I want is Diabetes on top of Hashis!
