Thyroid test ranges: Where in range should my tsh... - Thyroid UK
Thyroid test ranges
The upper third of both t3 and t4 ranges is a good place to be. Tsh best between 0.2 and 1.0
The aim is relief of all clinical symptoms which I think is the priority although I doubt doctors seem to be aware of that. They also seem to believe that a TSH within the range means we are on a sufficient dose when it should be 1 or lower. This is a link of clinical symptoms and I doubt doctors know more than three.

Once-upon-a time we all used to be diagnosed upon clinical symptoms alone (before blood tests were invented) and prescribed NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones).
Thanks, I have been under active 25 yrs on levo all of this time. Had my TPO tested for the first time January, 13.9 range 0 to 8
T4 15.9 don't have a range as they removed the range and put N/A on my online test results
T3 4.2 range 4 to 6.6
TSH 4.87 range 0.34 to 5.6
You are on insufficient levo to have a TSH of nearly 5. In other countries we are diagnosed when TSH is 3+ but am sure someone who was introducing the UK tests must have had brain-fog (hypo) as it decided the TSH has to reach 10 before being diagnosed.
We need TSH to be around 1 or lower and a Free T4 and free T3 in the upper part of the range. These two are rarely taken.
I think after 25 years you need to take some action as doctor clearly is unknowledgeable and keeps you unwell. Tick off the symptoms you have as the aim is relief of all clinical symptoms. Sometimes we need to add some T3 to T4 as scientists/researchers have proven many need a combo to feel well. Quite a few of our members on the forum source their own.

The reason we need FT4 and FT3 tested is on the following link:-

The proof of their ignorance is the fact that N/A - not applicable - says it all.
We have two labs which will do all of the tests you require and at present Medichecks has a special offer and it is a home pin-prick test. If you decide to go this route make sure you are well hydrated a couple of days before and arms are warm on the morning test.
You should allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose and the test and take afterwards. It should also be a fasting test.

If you have never had thyroid antibodies tested I'd get this too.
Hi thanks for the reply I had my tpo antibodies done in January they were 13.9 range 0 to 8.
I am working with my Dr on the medication front, I have been fine for yrs, then the cardiologist reduced my levo. My Dr is very good and listens to me.
I already have the heart problem Lol
