I should think you can but others who've had the op you are going to go through will respond.

I wish you well and a speedy recovery.

Are you already diagnosed as hypothyroid? Are you already being treated?

If you are then I can't see that taking Levo will be a problem on the day of the operation itself. But it would be a very good idea to check with your surgeon though - nobody here can be assumed to have any reliable medical knowledge. The same comment applies if you are on any supplements or other medications. Some popular supplements can thin the blood e.g. garlic and fish oils (I think). If you are taking several supplements that thin the blood you could bleed more than is good for you. Do a google search for "supplements that thin the blood" and ask your surgeon if or when you should stop taking them.

After your partial thyroidectomy your thyroid hormone levels will probably change quite a bit. But it may take a little while to find out exactly how much your results have been altered. Some people do fine on half a thyroid (so I've read - I don't know from personal knowledge). But others definitely need thyroid treatment (or extra thyroid treatment if they have already begun before surgery).

They will tell you exactly what to do. If you stay overnight, the medical staff will provide the thyroid medication.

I don't know the answer but I would t take your own meds in and ask on the ward. If the hospital give you meds they may only have something that your body may object to so better to stick with what you are used to.
