Hello Everyone...My Thyroid Op today.

I have not posted for a while, as I have been on the waiting list for my operation. All very quick as a cancellation become available.

So I am having the nodule removed with partial thyroid, so will have the right side intact.

Feeling quite anxious...but needs must.

Hi, I had a half my thyroid removed a few years ago, and it all went smoothly. The main thing I wish someone had told me how to get up from a bed for the first couple of days - get someone to support your neck as you sit up. Thinking of you today.

Hi and thanks for all your replies. Op went well as far as I know. Feeling very tired but that's because lack of sleep. So stitches out next Wednesday and I see my consultant in 4 weeks time. Feeling quite fragile, but its only to be expected I suppose.

Not sure how my graves disease will be, now that the toxic nodule has been removed.

I also forgot to ask how long do you wait for the nodule to be checked for cancer.

So everything up in the air still...until I get my results.

But glad to be home with my lovely cat bailey,. who is giving me lots of love.

So need to sleep and I will keep you all posted.
