Better off out of it I reckon, unfriendly group that one. I read it occasionally but have never posted anything for fear of saying the wrong thing and incurring their wrath
I didn't spend much time there, but it was specific for people without a thyroid, so I thought it MIGHT have some useful info. Zilch. And I got my knuckles slapped for implying that anyone would start out at anything but 1 grain. Um, thanks, but I wouldn't really want to go hypo for their most sacred one-size fits all protocol!
And the moderator spends all her time slapping ppl for using the 'reply' feature and insisting ppl post in the comments part only. So when she deletes their posts it probably isn't as obvious, lol, because the whole 'discussion' was completely disjointed anyways...
I really do not like FB. I have an account but only because you need it sometimes to looks at certain things. It is so convoluted and I never know exactly what I'm looking at. Posts and re-posts and likes and whatever, seems almost designed to obscure what you are sharing or at least with whom you are sharing it. It attempts to force people together via social pressure. I do like Instagram because I love photography, but it worries me that FB owns it. Yikes....
Would you post it here? More people who know there is an alternative to Levo the better!
Here you go. This is the chart that got me in trouble. There are other charts as well and they are only a general guide. But this one is so much better than the lame manufacturer equivalence charts.
I can't take credit for the chart, it is from another site and has been posted here a bunch. I just like it, as it seems more realistic than anything I've seen.
I didn't mean sorry that you were missing out on anything. Just sorry you had to waste your time whereas joining was probably doomed from the start. She blocked me from all FTPO groups too, lol...
The connection between FB groups and this one is the people only - people who are either members or admins or both on few, couple.
Facebook groups have no influence on this forum and the other way round apart from common denominator- it's members.
There's a member on here I've seen on the other group - not facebook though - this person talks the same bs on both sites, hence positive ID, but there's no connection between either of those sites apart from few members involved in those two groups at the same time.
I guess I meant that the same admins run several FTPO named groups, because I went to click on another hormone one and it gave me the message that it was not available to me.
Yeah that were my thoughts. But how many groups can one person physicall manage during 24h/day assuming they don't work and have nothing better going on in their life?
As for me, I left highschool millions years ago, things like refusal to be accepted in a group - don't get to me at all and I quickly move onto something else.
STTM is pro NDT. I don't know how closely tied this FB group and STTM actually are. I know that the group subscribes to the STTM thinking, but they seemed very rigid.
Someone asked about equivalencies to Levo and the Mod shot down any possible equivalents, claiming that there are none. And insisting that everyone begin on 1 grain, thyroid or not. The Mod seemed all about the power.
I usually spot when I've written something really really stupid, slightly too late. Some people will never notice, even when confronted with their error.
I find a lot of the trolls on FB groups really nasty and disruptive. It always goes off on tangents with people bickering. I don't use it now. I remember a Woman asking for help with her child on one forum and she got a nasty reply. I told her to go on this forum instead. I found the original sttm forum quite useful but when they FB changed the format I cancelled it. Me and my problematic thyroid was the first one I joined. Don't think it exists now.
The only nastiness I saw was by the MODs. But I wasn't there long enough to get a full picture. I simply posted what I thought was a helpful suggestion and got blasted and told I should do more reading on the STTM web site. Which I went back and reread the part about starting NDT. Nope she was wrong. It wasn't as rigid as she was being.
