Has anyone tried NDT and been unsuccessful?

Hi. I take Synthroid 75mcg and I see lots of people who do better on NDT, but I have not been successful with NDT. I'm just wondering if I'm alone in this. Anyone out there find that they do better on Synthroid or Levothyroxine alone?

I tried Nature throid, and it gave me hyper like symptoms, increased heartbeat, energy and burning feelings at my thyroid! I use it for 2 days only half a grain! So I return to Levothyroxine 50mcg back and these symptoms were gone. Then I tried to take T3 alone and same symptoms were presented +my neck became swollen and painful. So I stopped it!

My Iron level, B12 are high. I am also use 10 mg Hydrocortisone a day to support stress level.

I do not know why iam intolerant to T3!

I have Hashimoto for 10 months.

I tried Armour and generic NDT (many years ago), it did nothing for me, neither did adding T3 to the NDT. I went back on Levo and now I'm on Levo plus added T3. You need to make sure that all your nutrient levels are optimal (Vit D, B12, Folate, Ferritin) and that you don't have a problem with adrenals and sex hormones.

Jpar,

Sometimes people have to try several brands to find one which suits but not everyone does well on NDT.

Having adrenal issues can cause problems when people try NDT or T3

Hypothroid/Hashimotos — I tried Armor Thyroid - I will never try this again. My legs swelled. It put me in a state of anxiety that was so bad I missed work for like 6 weeks. Its was awful. I have since read Isabella Wentz, food plays a very active role with how we feel and heal. I have also started Plexus - its an all natural supplement program that is non-gmo, gluten free. Synthroid and Levo all have gluten in them (I just read that). So I will be checking inro Tirosint. Finding a Doctor who is willing to think outside the box and do other testing is also very helpful. Have your B-vitamins checked, iron, folate and the MTHR gene. I have also started using collagen. Gluten free and eat nothing out of the box — I food prep on Sundays for the week. Hope this helps
