What are the reference ranges? I know it says "outside reference ranges" and it's easy to see that TSH is very low, but we don't know how far out of range your FT4 is. I see you are in north Wales, if those tests were done through Bangor Hospital then that's where my surgery sends them and I know the range, but you need to confirm.
How would you know if you need T3 if FT3 isn't tested?
I really don't understand any of it. Is t3 a blood test too? Im in wrexham x
T3 is the hormone. Free T3 (FT3) is the blood test. I imagine your bloods are sent to Wrexham Maelor and I'm afraid I don't know what their ranges are.

I take it your endo said you should be prescribed T3 and the local health board has said no, is that right??
I don't actually understand why someone has said you need T3 because your FT4 is likely to be over range as it has * by the result and it says "falls outside expected range" (but I do find that a rather odd phrase) but also you would need FT3 testing to know if it is low which would indicate the need for T3.
Do you see an endo at Wrexham Maelor? Is it Dr S.S. (don't name names on the forum, you'll know who it is if you see him).
You could ring your GP surgery and ask for the ranges for these tests, if they don't know then you could ring the Path Lab at Wrexham Maelor assuming that is where they were done.
