Hi all I would be grateful for any advice please.

My symptoms are: Fatigue, muscle/joint pain, can't get warm, no sex drive, puffy eyes in am, no weight loss since June 2017 and occational palpitations.

My diet is nutritious but as I have PCOS so calorie intake is 1365 which should enable weight loss (but isn't). I take 1000mg metformin daily.

Prior to January, when my symptoms became worse, I was exercising 4/5 times per week. HiiT, Fitness walking and weights. Now I can't walk for 20 minutes without feeling exhausted. (I had previously lost 42lbs gradually between Nov 2014-May 2017). Also, body fat remains at 29% despite the diet & exercise.

Gp has checked my thyroid:-

TSH 4.3 (was 5.0 in August) [0.27-4.20]

T4 15.3 [11.0-25.0]

TPO < 9 U/mL [<34.0] antibody negative

So that result states "subclinical hypothyroidism, monitor TFTs every three years."

Gp is now sending me for :- ESR RF anti TTG Abs Vit B12 AND Folate

This time last year I felt the best ever, now I feel lethargic and my body is aching doing the slightest of things.

Thank you

For full evaluation also need, FT3, plus TPO and TG antibodies, vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested

See if you can get thyroid antibodies and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3

High thyroid antibodies gives diagnosis of Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease

PCOS and Hashimoto's are often linked so important to test antibodies

Private tests are available

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results

Thank you.

My TPO result was 9 U/mL (<34.0).

I have been for Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 test this morning so should get those results in a few days.
