Medi checks results advice please

Just wondering if someone could give me some advice. I have Hashimotos. I take 100mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronine a day.

Feeling very tired and Endo appointment coming up so paid for blood tests...forwarned is forarmed I thought!

Previous tests have shown t3 to be low so wanted that checked.

The advice from the medichecks doctor was to have full blood count and liver function test due to B12 being too high. Has anyone else had problems with B12 being too high?

Thanks in advance

Fiona

You have a lot needs improving

FT4 is much too low - you need dose increase in Levo

FT3 also too low. Might improve with higher dose of Levo, (retest after 6 weeks on higher dose) if not you need increase in T3 as well

Vitamins are all probably too low because you are under medicated

Vitamin D is dire. Do you supplement?

Need at least 5000iu daily for 2-3 months and retest. Aiming for around 100nmol

Ferritin dire. Request full iron panel from GP ASAP

You need either iron infusion or ferrous fumerate supplements 2 or 3 x daily

B12 - do you take any multivitamins or B vitamins?

As you have Hashimoto's are you on strictly gluten free diet? If not you need to request coeliac test from GP before trying it

Typical Low vitamins due to under medication and detailed supplements advice on how to improve

Thank you SlowDragon

I don't take any supplements to be honest. I have previously (2013) has VitD deficiency.

I wouldn't say I'm on a strict Gluten free diet but 90%, I know that's not really good enough. Was planning on asking the Endo for another test ...previous one a few years ago was ok but I know myself I can't eat gluten.

I have requested full blood count and liver function from Gp as per medichecks doctor advice. Got that blood test on Monday.

Bit worried that Endo will say thyroid levels ok even though I thought they were low too.

B12 can be high due other B vitamins being very low. Adding a good vitamin B complex (after you start Vitamin D) may help
