Hi!
I'm looking to get some lactose free thyroxine and I am wondering whether it is worth giving Teva a go. Has anybody had any positive results with it? All I have read so far is very negative.
Thanks for your help!

What is wrong with the Levothyroxine you currently take?
I have found no difference amongst the three brands that I have been given.
thank you for your help!
Abigailfrances,
I cannot have Lactose or Fructose ,I have Teva I am fine with it .In fact my IBS has been much better since I started it last January .Hope this helps .
Hi Abigailfrances,
Just wondering if you ever tried Teva and, if so, how did you get on with it please? I'm the same, keep seeing negative posts about it.
Thanks,
Hi! I didn't try teva in the end, i got a private prescription from my GP, after putting up a bit of a fight, and now buy l thyroxin Henning from bennewitz website in Germany. It seems to have taken me about 6 months to feel slightly better though so don't know whether i have an underlying issue with corn in Henning. Since my post my dad was prescribed teva and has asked for it to be noted on his prescription that he didtn want them again as he didn't feel good on them. Let me know how you get on 😊
Never heard of thyroxin Henning?? Will research it........ so you pay for this yourself I presume.
What was your biggest thyroid symptom (if you don't mind me asking) Mine is tiredness/low energy/fatigue...... I have been on Mercury Pharma for almost 3 years and am very sensitive to increase so my Endo has suggested a 28 day trial on Teva which I started Sunday!!
Thanks for replying.
its L thyroxin Henning and its lactose free. Its about 30 euros for about 6 months supply. I'm the same with the fatigue, and would say I feel worse now than when my tsh was 22 when I was first diagnosed, even though my tsh is now under 1. I also am sensitive to increases in meds, last time I increased it took months for me to get back to normal again and had to have a couple of weeks off work. I find the only time I felt much better was when I was going to accupuncture each week, but that is unsustainable forever. I am trying at the moment to get a private prescription for t3 as I don't think I convert well, but again that is a battle. How are you finding teva so far?
and how do you find your Endo? Are they quite understanding?
Thanks for reply again.
I'm not actually lactose intolerant but my Endo has just asked me to try Teva as some of his patients have found it OK when they're sensitive to increase.
My dose is low (been on 25mcg) Mercury Pharma for almost 3 years...... increased to 50 back in June this year but had terrible side effects - low mood, sensitive, hot sweats day and night, insomnia, tearful and emotional!!
My GP was no help so I asked to be referred (luckily I have private healthcare in work) He done all my bloods and all come back OK - although surprised as he told me I'd gone through my menopause (i'm 46)!!
He asked me to increase Mercury Pharma again up to 37.5 twice a week but I never tolerated it and it caused insomnia again.
As mentioned earlier I've only been taking Teva since Sunday - I have to alternate 25 on one day and 50 the next for the next month - go back and tell him how I felt.
I have since read loads of negative posts so I'm like a ticking time bomb waiting to experience these - but OK so far!
MY endo does seem to know what he's talking about and is more caring than any GP i've seen - he did mention something about when I see him next if I didn't get on with Teva brand then I may have to fund something myself which costs approx £258 per month which is something I can never afford!!!
My last TSH was just under 3 I think in September.
