Saw on your previous post you are suffering gut issues

This is most likely LOW Stomach Acid due to under medication

What was most recent thyroid test results

Are you still only on 50mcgs dose

That is only starter dose. Should be increased in 25mcg steps until TSH is around one and FT4 towards top of range and FT3 at least half way in range

Do you have Hashimotos (high antibodies) if so low vitamins are extremely common

Havd you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested?

Post results and ranges if you have them

Will add some links about low stomach acid shortly and how to improve

But you need thyroid medication optimal plus good vitamins too

Low stomach acid can be an issue

Lots of posts on here about how to improve with Apple cider vinegar or Betaine HCL

Why are you considering charcoal? I take it for quite specific reasons and it needs careful timing with thyroid and other meds. so is difficult to get right. But I wouldn’t consider it until other thyroid and gut issues were settled. More info please.

This is what Izabella Wentz, the Thyroid Pharmacists says about taking activated charcoal: “Keep in mind that activated charcoal binds EVERYTHING, so don’t take it with other supplements and medications you would like to absorb. I also recommend supplementing with magnesium whenever you take activated charcoal. Just be sure that you take the supplements at least 4 hours apart to prevent impairments in absorption.”

Charcoal used to be given in A & E after taking an overdose. Sorry I don't know about the tablets.

I take it occasionally for when I get bad gut pains. I think it can also kill some bugs (sure I read it somewhere). It works well and quickly but I take it as far away from my NDT as I can because it reduces its efficacy. It is good to address any digestive problems as advised by others.
