I’ve seen a few posts on this. Why is Levo seen as bad?

Some people do not convert levo. Levo is the hormone t4, and it will be t3 in your body if your system make it happen.

For me I can see in the lab results that the levothyroxine never converted in my body, and the TSH is getting higher and higher, at the same time the doctor tries to lower the TSH and gives you more and more levy until the dose is so high, and you are not well at all.

Some people just need T3 directly into the system, and from the week I started with liothyronine my body temperature became normal, and i lost 45 kg in 9 months without any other changes.

There is also research that shows that levo can also make the thyroid even WORSE. I only have that in Swedish unfortunately.

Oh wow, thank you for getting back to me so swiftly. Was the t3 prescribed from you gp or did you have to go privately?

I had the prescription in Sweden where I live, after asking 8 doctors about it. ;) But here in Sweden the only company for T3medication are having great problems. 8 batches of the medicine was taken back. And since then the medication is still bad. (Even if Takeda don't admit that) So my friend in Greece is buying it for me in Greece through her contacts there. Its hard to get, very hard, but its still working.

Sorry, you didn’t mention that in your post- scatter brain!

I’m glad you have found something that works for you! I really need to push to have mine looked at again as I don’t feel right in myself at all. Oh the joys of the human body. I hope the supply issues get solved soon. Thank you again and so happy you are feeling a lot better!

My condition only on levo was at the end making me to faint, and then I was so overweight that I had lumbago, and when I had to take ambulance in to the emergency I said to myself I cannot live like this anymore.

I am a person that walks daily in the forrest for 4 hours with my dogs. I do 20 000 steps every day! I eat healthy food, as my husband is a chef with healthy focus. He is also a Personal trainer and educated with nutrition. We have been a couple for 18 years, and he couldn't make me lose weight with all his competence...

But liothyronine made it happen, and even better NDT.

Now with a long period with bad Swedish liothyronine my health is worse, and I began to gain weight again, but I try desperately to have it better under control. Its all about the medications and my levels in my body, for the ft3.

You look fantastic! And healthy 👏👍😊 Wow...

How much t3 do you take and do you split doses.

Absolutely brilliant!

Fascinating and am so glad you have found a solution. Liothyronine wrongly gets such bad press. Your case is evidence of the good it does! Hope you get the supply of it sorted better in your country. Here as you may know the NHS are embarking on banning it -taking everyone off not only synthetic liothronine but ndts as it contains liothyronine. Mad mad world!!! Lol....

Are they taking it off because of health risks of liothyronine?? I thought it was a funding issue...

Wow! You look fantastic! I just started on Liothyronine 6 months ago. Your “before” photo looks just like me so I’m hoping that the T3 will now help my body to work properly and I might end up close to your “after” photo x

I also have been on levo too long 10 years and am very overweight. Could you pm me, if you find out where to get NDT. I would be very grateful. Many thanks,
