That's a tiny dose ....especially if you are male (?)

Post you most recent tests results and ranges for TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Do you have Hashimoto's diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?

You haven't given any information on your profile (only your name) but you should type up a history of when you were diagnosed, with what (hypo-hyper) doses etc.

Once you realise that doctors are the people to avoid as they know little the better.

Your dose is too low, 50mcg is a starting dose and should be increased by 25mcg of levo every six weeks following a blood tests.

Often doctors think that once the TSH has reached somewhere in the range you're on sufficient but that is NOT the case.

The aim is a TSH of 1 or lower with a Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the range (the latter two are rarely tested.)

All blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo and test and take afterwards. This helps keep the TSH at its highest as that's all they seem to look at.

Request TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies.

B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. All at the same time.

Request a print-out of your results from the surgery. Some charge a nominal sum for paper/ink and put them on a new post. The ranges are important and must also be stated.
